GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING TEAM! I write to you from the road once again, this time en route to Denton for a massive in-state rivalry contest between UTSA and UNT. It feels like we are well and truly within the depths of fall now as the temperatures start to drop and the light gets shorter but that’s perfectly fine with me.

I know people think of barbecue as a summer meal but I’ve always felt that crushing copious amounts of smoked meats really fits better the colder it is. Considering the fact that tending a smoker can be pretty toasty work and really it’s a bit of a break for pitmasters when they aren’t adding 100-degree weather to that equation.

We’ve got plenty of great college football on the docket this week, NASCAR’s season conclusion occurs on Sunday, and the NFL, NBA, and NHL all continue to roll on. The World Series may have just ended but I maintain that fall deserves the top spot among the seasons for sports.

And of course, this time of year shares its musical appeal as well. However, I ask you to refrain from putting on the holiday tunes just yet. Instead, let me offer you a musical suggestion to pair with some smoked meats and betting advice.
